Meeting place

Where is the meeting place for people of different beliefs? I no longer have any interest in engaging in lengthy debates with people over the nature of the Trinity. I don't feel any serious compulsion to defend The Salvation Army's position on the sacraments - it is what it is. It's where your beliefs begin to shape the way that you live that I begin to become more interested.

Malcolm Duncan says that "if following Jesus doesn't lead you to the poor, then you aren't following Jesus". If your faith (or lack of it) doesn't result in you actively working to make this world a better place, then we probably don't have much in common. If someone or something else has lead you to commit your life to building a better world and bringing hope to the poor and marginalised - then we have the beginnings of a decent conversation. You may not agree with everything I say and I probably won't agree with you one hundred percent either. But at least we'll have something to talk about while we work...
