Missing Persons

The Salvation Army's Family Tracing service do an amazing job of reconnecting people who have lost contact - sometimes for decades. I have assisted at both ends of this process, helping people to fill out and lodge the forms required for family tracing assistance, as well as visiting the last known address of people who have lost touch with family. Both are small contributions to what is an incredibly valuable service to people who are feeling disconnected from loved ones.

The Bible tells a number of stories about the joy of finding something that is lost. It's a familiar feature of Jesus' parables and comes to life in the story of the Prodigal Son in Luke's gospel. Unfortunately, there are some who are never found and who never make it home. May those who are lost or disconnected from those they love find their way once again.
