Building a Better World

From Malcolm Duncan's book, 'Building a Better World':

Understanding holism means we recognise that poverty is a spiritual issue as well as a physical one. Injustice is a spiritual issue as well as a physical one. Houses, cars, finances and family - how we think about all of these things is as much about our spiritual attitudes as it is our social and physical ones. This is an important contribution to the discussion about how we might build a better world. It is important because if a holistic understanding of life is a right understanding, then
service provision, politics, community development, healthcare, education, housing and a whole list of other things become both spiritual and material issues.
