We sometimes joke around the office about how the phases of the moon affect people. When the levels of chaos rise above normal, someone inevitably refers to the full moon or the new moon - one of them is always on the way or is current or has just been.

I'm sure a post-grad student has done a study somewhere on this topic. I'm a skeptic but I still find the idea somewhat amusing. The serious reality is that chaos and crisis are a big part of the lives of many of the people with whom we work on a daily basis. Lunar influence aside, people going through crises often require someone that they can trust to help steer them through difficult times. It can be extraordinarily demanding and difficult at times, but well...it's only once a month...
