One of the explicit mission values of our Territory is the value of Human Dignity. In the work of The Salvation Army, we recognise both the essential humanity which we all share regardless of race, gender, culture, etc. and also the symbolic meaning of our creation in the image of God.
If we truly believe that humanity is created in God's image and we seek to worship that God, then this has clear implications for the ways in which we treat each other. How could we possibly ignore the plight of the homeless, the hungry and the disenfranchised who are made in the likeness of the God whom we serve?
