Lenten failure

I lasted 5 days! In the end, it wasn't lack of willpower but simple forgetfulness that resulted in the breakdown of my Lent challenge. I guess even here there's a simple lesson - maybe the greatest danger is that we simply forget that the poor exist. We would rather not be bothered by thoughts of hungry or starving people in other countries and can conveniently ignore them most of the time in our own. Maybe next year...

I'm still going strong (however, I did fall off the Lent wagon last year for the same reason as you - forgetfulness). I've gone for chocolate, coffee and Coke - the 3 C's... I'll have you know that the first few days were not pretty!

Glad you didn't hold back! Why not just give up everything starting with C? From someone who couln't even remember one B, I'm impressed by your fortitude!
